Bjork was amazing, she was like a little space pixie. She jumped around the stage and did dances to the drum beats, like she was composing the music. It was like she had her own little tribe, with the all girl brass section dressed in colourful gowns and face paint.

when she sang "Im going to prove the impossible really exists.." every single person in the crowd would of been thinking "you just have proved it, there is no one like you".

I had tears in my eyes when she sang my all time favourite song of hers, Hyperballad. Hyperballad was the song that I grew up listening too, its the song I would play on repeat. I could of watch her perform it a thousand times over.

the encore was amazing too, she came back out with the band surrounding her and they danced around like a little tribe. I felt like I was watching a secret tribal dance. The last song she sung was "Declare Independence" which was a political statement about the aboriginal people of Australia.... She ended the concert with fireworks and confetti. It was just amazing !!! ah..I wish I could watch it all over again.

It was worth every penny I spent to get there!

ps. She requested that no photos be taken, so I'm using images I found on the festival website of the concert.

  4. Wasn't she incredible?!! I was at the Opera House performance too - I kept an eye out in case I spotted you in the crowd :)

(I was too nervous to mention to anybody beforehand that I was actually going... I'd missed out on a ticket & was lucky enough to buy one from someone else who couldn't make it. I was terrified I'd get turned away at the gates!)

I also saw Bjork many years ago at the Big Day Out & I think maybe a year later at the Hordern. It was definitely worth the decade+ wait for her to return! I was so moved by her performance, it took me a couple of days to come back to earth...

  6. Sounds so amazing! She just takes you away to another place, I have no doubt I would have cried too, especially for hyperballad, did she play joga? I love that too, also play dead is amazing but I don't think she plays that live much these days. I am just going to have to impatiently wait for another chance to see her and I refuse to miss out again!
Your sydney trip sounds great too!
