  1. Oh those are so cute! I want some!

Yes there is a LOT of illustration talent in Australia. My sister and I are always waxing lyrical about starting our own magazine to feature our favourite illustrators! I guess that's what I like about blogs, being able to take these matters into our own hands to share and discover artists we choose. :)

  2. Oh My. I could fall for those teacup necklaces. I don't need any and I probably wouldn't ever wear it but Oh My....I DO like them.

I hear you about the bias against local/national at times. "the grass is always greener" or more talented foolishness???

  3. good point liss and i agree with you. It would be nice to see Frankie supporting australian female illustrators and giving them a platform to help them along in their careers.

The necklaces are so nice, love the detail and colours in them.

  4. yay for new Frankie! I just got mine in the mail today, seriously though save yourself some dosh and get a subscription! Half the time you get it a week earlier than the normal release date, and it saves you money obviously.
I'd also like to see more aussie artists, especially as they DO seem to stick to a very similar theme and there are lots of aussies who do beautiful whimsical/melancholy/dreamy artwork!

  7. i love those necklaces! i think i am a sucker for anything teacup related which explains why i have so many random teacups. anyway, i totally agree about the illustrator features. i love frankie too but it would be great to see more aussies in it. i would think that would fit with the demographic they are going for who like the crafty, local kind of deal. thats just me!
