Question #11

Friday, May 30

I love art that has a good sense of humour and can make me laugh. Especially this week when Ive been feeling all confused about my future and what I'm going to do next. Here is some art that has cheered me up this week............

Question #11 by Silje

collage by Sonja Alhers

You might think how could that cheer you up, isnt it depressing? ...somehow it makes me feel better, like reassures me that the world can be shit at times by you have to laugh at it.

Its a book by Sonja Ahlers who does the most beautiful and amusing collages. I love her attitude !! You might recognise her from Frankie see this post.

I was shocked when I heard the news that the Bill Henson exhibition had been closed on grounds of child pornography. I personally think his work is brilliant, and not phonographic at all.

What do you think?

edit: Well is seems that the controversial pictures have been removed. A statement on the gallery website says...

"After much consideration we have decided to withdraw a number of works from the current Bill Henson exhibition that have attracted controversy. The current show, without the said works, will be re-opened for viewing in coming days."

help please........

So I just changed my blog header......again. The last one was my quick put together idea and this one is the idea transformed by a proper designer (aka my sis)

What do you think?

Is it too big? should I go a bit thinner....such important decisions (hehe)

this is the old one (just for reference)..click for larger view.

oh look look

Frankie got a new look website......

It feels like theres been an exhibition to go to every week, but I don't mind! I love exhibitions.....cheap wine, art, creative people!!

so here are the details of the next exhibition I'm off to with my sis and my camera....

it's featuring,
Andrea Innocent
Brooke Bobridge
Catherine Campbell
Coralie Kane
Eveline Tatunadjaja.
Sean Morris

Something different about this exhibition is they have been working on some collaborative pieces.......

".......We have been working on collaborative drawings that we have been posting around from Melbourne to Perth, sometimes to Bangkok... and then back again." (from Catherine Campbell's Blog)

I'm really curious to see how these collaborative drawings have come together. I think they will be great!

well maybe Ill see you there, come say hi.
