A beautiful blog award is certainly well deserved! Congratulations... x
ReplyDeleteCatch 22 is a good book..
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and im glad you got this award!
Have you read The Great Gatsby? It's my goal too to read more classics. I'm reading Emma now, it's good but it gets dull at times.

Yes! The Great Gatsby is amazing and if you havent read it you definately should.
ReplyDeleteMy other classic faves are Brideshead Revisited, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Wuthering Heights and The Bell Jar. Although Sylvia Plath can be a bit intense, you have to be in the mood I think.
I'm doing the same thing at the moment, I havent read a novel in so long... I've been reading short stories mostly this year. At the moment I'm reading Heart of Darkness.
xS
Aww, they used to have that same clock in my kindergarten! The one with the birds around it :) Haha, and I read Animal Farm a few years ago and I had no idea what it was supposed to be about, but I remember enjoying it.
ReplyDeletedefinitely give Brave New World by Aldous Huxley a go.
ReplyDeleteand, of course, Gone With the Wind. *sigh* one of my favourite books EVER!
I was going to suggest "The Picture of Dorian Gray", but it's been suggested before, so thinking about other classics (I'm into them right now as well), I loved "The Lady of the Camellias" by Alexandre Dumas (the son), "Madame Bovary" by Gustave Flaubert... And also "The Mysteries of Udolpho", that's a great one. Very haunting. And speaking about haunting, George Orwell's "1984" was a really weird reading. I loved it, but it kind of scared me, because I'm afraid that our world could turn to something like that one day.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you've already read these, but if you didn't, I highly recommend them :)!
I was craving more time and now that I have it, I've been craving watches?? I love these clocks.
ReplyDeleteOh these are great suggestions! I loved The Sun Also Rises, by Hemmingway...but I just love him regardless...also, can you post pics of the leather jacket and booties? THanks!
ReplyDeleteAnimal farm is good. I also think 1984 by Gorge Orwell is at least as good.
ReplyDeleteah. i've been looking for a clock very similar to the first photo for so long. i'd actually like to start a clock collage on my wall, and just collect all sorts of old beautiful clocks. <3
ReplyDeleteoh, Animal Farm is a one masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteI love classical novels<3 My favourite is The picture of Dorian Gray;) Oscar Wilde is such a genius!
ReplyDeleteThe Hills! I just reached season 3 today too! I love it;) Mostly I spy on their clothes though ^^
Congratulations on the award!
gotta check out the "The Hills"... congrats and K&H from me :)
ReplyDeleteI suggest reading some Jane Austen novels and F. Scott Fitzgerald ones. Tender is the Night by F. Scott is a wonderful read and shows parts from what he had to deal with at the time, as well. It's an interesting read. And Jane Austen, of course, sarcastic, romantic, need I say more? :) I need more time, too! I feel like summer is almost ending when in truth, it is not!
ReplyDeleteThanks love! Oh gosh i really need to catch up on tags. I'm gonna try do it this week.
ReplyDeleteI feel like we haven't caught up in awhile! I'm liking the sound of these new clothes you've bought. Where i live lately everyone has been buying these horrible boots that come up to your knees and I honestly think that trend died awhile ago. Ankle boots all the way!
Hi -- if you find yourself with extra time, feel free to send some of it my way!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I love that bird clock. :D
ReplyDeleteAnimal Farm is wonderful. As for other classics, I always wholeheartedly recommend Jane Eyre & the Bronte sisters!
Mmm... fajitas.
ReplyDeleteDepends on your mood - for dark and introspective, I'd try some Woolfe or Plath; to step into a lighter, ye olde world, some Austen; for a little more drama or moodiness, the Picture of Dorian Gray is brilliant, or you could try some Bronte.
Love the update about what your reading, wanting, etc :0)
ReplyDeleteYou've chosen a favourite book of mine already, go for CLASSIC - "1984". "On the Road" by Kerouac, some like, some don't and try biographies - some classics amongst them too.
ReplyDeletetwo books i always suggest are:
ReplyDeleteLetters to a Young Poet (Rainer Maria Rilke)
A Picture of Dorian Grey (Oscar Wilde)
Darn---someone beat me to it!! I ALSO picked you for this award and the poof---you already had received it! It must be very well deserved!! Congrats! Heidi
ReplyDeleteyes the hills! i saw on your twitter that you were watching it today. im so jealous! i NEED season 4 but i just cant afford it!! i tried my local dvd rental store and they don't have any of the hills at all (what's wrong with them!)
ReplyDeletehappy watching!
xxx
Revolutionary Road is amazing-- Richard Yates. Also: most of Jane Austen! And when I'm feeling very dramatic, Edith Wharton.
ReplyDeleteRead Remarque's "Arc de Triomophe" or "Heaven has no favourites"... They're really great. There's also Hesse's "Steppenwolf" and my personal favourite: Bulgakov's "Master and Margarita", which is the most magical book ever written I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI like Animal Farm but I definitely prefer 1984. My favourite novel is "The Picture Of Dorian Gray" by Wilde (of course). I suggest "Dangerous Liasons" by de Laclos, or a book of Maupassant(both french classics authors, I'm French and I'm revising my classics for an exam). And Baudelaire poetry.
ReplyDeleteI have the same feeling about time, so much things I want to do and so little time !
I suggest Anna Karenina by Tolstoj!
ReplyDeleteoh!!!!! OH!!! WOW THANK YOU!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend has been reading Anna Karenina for almost 7 years, he should be just about finished any time now. I am reading Wuthering Heights, really enjoyed Great Gatsby, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Just finished Henry and June by Anais Nin. God she was annoying. Happy reading though!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful clocks! I love what you're doing with your blog! It's become one of my fave places to visit. One of my favourite reads of all time is 'One Hundred Years of Solitude' if you haven't read it already :)
