I came across these photos of a festival in
London Dorset called End of the Road, and I must say this festival looks so different to the ones we have in Australia. If festivals were like this over here then Id be more inclined to go!! But ours are more thousands of people packed into an oval/field, drunk, sweaty and stinky. This looks more like a tea party in the forest....don't you think?

Oh wow, it's gorgeous !!
ReplyDeleteHehe, these are probably the photos BEFORE the festival started hehe... that's what I think!
xoxo
PS. My 'captula' word read 'bloged' haha.

Gorgeous ..I love the 2nd one ..looks like they are living in a doll's house open at the front.
ReplyDeleteI want to go to a tea party in a forest too! I remember playing a fairy at a cute festival in the Dandenongs about a decade ago...but cannot recall what it was called! It was nowhere near this cool though...
ReplyDeletelets make one! that looks so pretty
ReplyDeleteAmazing shots. 'Nuff said
ReplyDeleteyour blog is the sweetest, big hug from Argentina!
ReplyDeleteit reminds me of Alice in Wonderland
ReplyDeletegosh, I'd want to go to this kind of festival too! Yes to tea parties, no to being squashed next to stinky sweaty strangers ;)
ReplyDeleteThis looks way too cool for words. I wanna go!
ReplyDeleteWhat a festival! Congrat!

That looks so nice and relaxing! So peaceful. :o)
ReplyDeleteheck yeah, that does look like an awesome little shin dig =]
ReplyDeletei like the 'natural' looking sofas... sooo pretty!
ReplyDeletewow, the vibe of that festival looks so light and carefree
ReplyDeletegorgeous photographs !
Looks lovely. I live in London and have never heard of this festival! Perhaps I will hunt it down next year. And I'm afraid to say that most festivals here are like the ones you described in Australia :(
ReplyDeletex
I'm jealous that you came across this first, seeing as I live in London!
ReplyDeletetoo magical. <3

this is in dorset, a wee bit out of london (in the countryside) and is a very new festival. some areas of glastonbury are like this too. xxxx
ReplyDelete@Kerri ~ oh I think I would like this area!!
ReplyDeletei wouldn't be able to leave if i went :(

Those photos are GORGEOUS and I want to be there. So badly.
ReplyDeleteYes, They are different And different always is visible from far. I was amazed to watch the piano picture. And then The grass sofa.
ReplyDeleteFantastic celebration.
Great idea.
Cheers !!!

ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! I would love to join this festival some day!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is gorgeous!
gorgeous pictures
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more with ya, it's such a nice environment. especially that grassy sofa in the third picture <3
Agree - def. looks very English!! Somehow festivals in Uk and even Europe are the real thing, anywhere else, as you say, they are just a crowd of noise!! In fact your words describe it perfectly. Gena
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's really different but it looks like enjoyable =)))
ReplyDeleteI was thinking isn't End of the road in dorset?! glad i'm not going mad!
ReplyDeleteit's like a folk festival, not your typical indie rock ones so it fits with this look really!
Greetings from Lizzie in the UK
ReplyDeleteHey I went to this festival and it was every bit as good as it looks. The sun shone, the camping was organised and the loos were clean. Food was cheap and the lineup was fantastic too. Headlining were the Fleet Foxes but there were tons of other excellent groups. Watch out for the Leisure Society and the Low Anthem. Amazing. The festival isnt in London its in the middle of the countryside near Stonehenge.
xx
@Leanne ~ oh thanks, I fixed the post up. Ill have to look out for some folk festivals here in Australia!
ReplyDelete@Lizzie ~ sounds fantastic!!
Yes, that festival *does* look a bit more my speed!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! It is oh so pretty! I have just launched a brand new Irish blog about art design and fashion from the otherside of your world... but same daydream essence :)
ReplyDeleteSo unique and odd! I love the quaint and nostalgic feel of all the images!
ReplyDeletei wish i had one of those grass covered couches in my little yard - how perfect would it be lazing around in the summer sun with friends with that fun little seat to prop your self up on?
ReplyDeleteOoo, it's lovely :). Reminds me of fairies and things. Definitely better than our Australian festivals.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog by the way, so many pretty things :).
x.
that last picture is so amazing!
ReplyDeleteeek your blog is the most perfect thing. the photos layout EVERYTHING! i even love how your links open in a new window :)
ReplyDeleteif only we had festivals like this in australia instead of the sweaty, hot and drunken ones we are subjected to throughout summer. oh dear, i think i must be getting old :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks magical! My kind of festival. I'm pretty tired of Australian festivals too. Even Splendour has started to lose it's magic (only slightly though). Hopefully the festival scene gets a shake-up soon.
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't look anything like the festivals I go to, but it does seem quite magical! I wouldn't mind going there.
ReplyDeletelooks great. i would totally go if it was happening in my country...
ReplyDeleteThis looks quite perfect!
ReplyDeleteYes! Much better than festivals in America for sure, in America we crowd onto STREETS and have no where to move and get alcohol spilled on each other. That seems such a pleasant, romantic festival!
ReplyDeletei've been to this festival, it's amazing, every bit as good as it looks in the photos. a really beautiful setting for incredible folk music.
ReplyDeleteYes i went and can confirm it's as pretty if not more pretty than these photos! The forest becomes a magical lit up area at night and there's a piano and table tennis, a disco and everything all in the woods.
ReplyDeleteI want to crawl in the picture and live......its def. not like any festival we have in America.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting!
ReplyDeleteWow.
ReplyDeleteThe second and third photos are just magic! I agree, if I could go to such a wonderful festival as this, I'd be there in a heartbeat!
x
Jess.
These are awesome! These make me want to take more pictures, but I have not a bit of experience. :/ Any advice for a wannabe photographer?
ReplyDeletehow enchanting! a perfect setting for daydreams and lullabies :)
ReplyDeletei would much rather perch myself with my 2 daughters and have refreshment on the mossy couch amongst nature, than amongst whirlygigs and spinny metal junkies that just simply gross me out
ReplyDeleteIt looks so lovely! I go to Greenman festival, in the middle of the countryside in Wales. Theres only a few 1000 people there and its so pretty. There's a big wicker man (like in the film) and at the end of the festival they set it on fire and set fireworks off. Small festivals are so much nicer than big ones xx
ReplyDeletemy gosh, so pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI agree that there is nothing like that around here. Or most places, really. It looks really unique!
Ha ha, the majority of festivals I've been to here (UK) are packed with smelly sweaty drunks.. BUT there are some really little twee festivals as well and they are amazing!
