I came across Tina's blog, The English Muse about a month ago and was instantly smitten! Tina writes a column for the Los Angeles Times (how very sex and the city!) and The English Muse is her personal blog featuring beautiful homes, photography, vintage and lots of other treasures. PS. Shes also curator of International Society of Girls in Flats ...yay for flats!!!
Peppermint is a new independent green fashion magazine, covering eco and ethical style in a positive, uplifting, and forward-thinking way. Peppermint promotes individuality, personal style, respect, values and 'slow fashion', while steering away from the trendmill and unsustainable ideals.
Gorgeous dresses by Bleubird Vintage, I think this is my third post in a row featuring a dress. So for a change of topic... Cupcake Camps ~ an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and eat cupcakes in an open environment....sounds like my kinda thing!!! x
Illustrator Ana Laura Perez has done textile designs for Pesqueira's Winter 09 collection. Its so exciting to see illustration being incorporated into fashion, I'm seeing alot of illustrators doing t-shirt designs for big labels..ie. Eveline T (Hurley & Gorman) and Mambo has a whole team of illustrators, including my friend Kelly Smith....though I wonder if it will last? I hope so!
With as much creativity as you can muster, show your heart in: 1 picture, 1 poem, 1 song or piece of music, 1 phrase or quote, 1 item of clothing, 1 place
[And just for fun-] 1 Disney princess!
1 picture This picture makes me feel all kinds of creative, I just adore it!
1 poem Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. ~ Robert Frost
I have always remembered this poem from studying it in school, It really stuck with me and the idea how in ONE moment and ONE decision our lives can be forever diverged.
1 song or piece of music
Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire, this song makes me want to dance!!!
1 phrase or quote "The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me. That's what I hope to give to you forever" ~ The Notebook
Renee Anne aka art4friends, does fine art and illustration in both realistic and contemporary drawing styles. Clearly this girl can draw!! and if you ask really nicely she can do a custom illustration for you. Else you can get her prints online or follow along at her blog.
I'm loving the little shapes and textures in her latest works.
Photographer Ryan Marshall is documenting the experience of expanding his family with a weekly photo shoot of his gorgeous wife's growing belly. The series started as a bit of fun but has caught the eye of American Apparel who have kindly provided clothing to continue the weekly project.
You can follow the series over at Ryan's blog Pacing The Panic Room can't wait to see more !
I've been feeling a bit under the weather. Hopefully I'll be up for more blogging soon, thank you for the comments on my previous posts, they have been cheering me up.

Bjork’s Icelandic documentary Nattura-Summer 2008, which focuses on the environmental issues facing Iceland, has been released exclusively on iTunes. Yay! All of the proceeds for the film go to the Nattura Campaign, which Bjork is greatly involved with.
Here is a video from the Nattura Concert last year. Bjork and Sigur Ros.....I think I died and went to heaven, two of my favourite artists on stage together!!!!!!! (it doesn't even matter that I have no clue what hes saying, anyone speak icelandic?)
