blog crush

Friday, April 24

A blog I've been spending alot of time on lately is The Art of Jordan. She has a nice little 'How To Series', that I'm really enjoying, such as:
I've needed that last one, sometimes it can be really hard to keep finding fresh things to blog about! When Im stuck for a post idea. I'll often look back through my old posts or through things I've bookmarked on flickr or weheartit. I tend to find the most inspiration from beautiful photography.

What do you like to do to keep creatively motivated?

warm and fuzzy memories

Sunday, April 19

So I was going back through some old posts and I came across this little entry....

[20/12/07 | 11:04am] Today I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm sitting at my desk listening to the storm outside and it makes me smile :-) (see big smiley) Also I'm feeling all inspired by the talented and wonderful people I have met through blogging, thank you (you know who you are).

Anyways it got me thinking back to all the people I have met either online or in real life through blogging. You all have been such an inspiration and I truely appreciate everyone who takes the time to follow and read my blog. Like Morganna, shes been reading my blog since I started...hehe I left the comments from the initial post behind that says she just found me, and she recently met up with my sister to tell her shes still reading my blog!! I was amazed to hear she is still reading along. Mainly because my blog has changed so much since then. Initially I was alot more crafty, but I havent had the time to be very crafty anymore, so I've posted alot more about what other people are doing. I'd love to hear from others that have been reading along for awhile, I feel like you have grown with me. Believe me this blog was pretty shabby to start out!!

Or even if your a new blogger comment me so I can read your blog too.

So enough warm and fuzzies, today I have to move furniture..yuk!!!

The collages featured are by Anna Wolf. Read an interview with her on The Drifter and the Gypsy.

Its time....

Wednesday, April 15

It's that time, the time when I can talk about some exciting things I've been working on. First and most obvious is my new blog design, created by blogger That Unreliable Girl, hasn't she done an amazing job?! And my sis gets an honourable mention for the banner creation, thanks sis!!! love you. I'm a little sad to see my other banner go, but felt it was time for a change. I spent ages looking over blog tutorials and blog templates and looking for something that I wanted but in the end it was easier to tell someone what I wanted and get them to do it for me!! this way I also have a one off design and no messing around with html and css!!

Second exciting news is I've been working with Amanda of Here Comes The Sun on some art & culture articles for the next issue (The Vintage Issue) of Dujour Magazine.

Dujour, hailing from NYC is bursting with dreamy fashion spreads, art features and the best of up and coming designers. As of May you can get your hands on a copy at Mag Nation, Happy Days!!! If your not able to get to a Mag Nation you can get an online subscription for only $10US for a whole year for a limited time Dujour have dropped the price to$5.99 , see their twitter for details. That's pretty cheap for so much prettiness!

yay, the hard work is done, still a little tweaking left to do, but mostly done!
x enjoy

"...Another thing is that my ability to do any serious mathematics fluctuates greatly from day to day; sometimes I can think hard on a problem for an hour, other times I feel ready to type up the full details of a sketch that I or my coauthors already wrote, and other times I only feel qualified to respond to email and do errands, or just to take a walk or even a nap."

If you were a tree, what tree would you be?
one with pretty flowers, maybe a magnolia.

What's for dinner?
Mexican food, yum

What is on your bedside table?
books, a lamp and my mobile phone.

What is your most challenging goal right now?
gosh so many, I've been working on articles with Amanda of Here Comes The Sun for DUJOUR Magazine, that has been a challenge and fun too!

Say something to the person who tagged you.
your blog is awesome one of my new favourites :-)

an awesome Victorian Style inner Melbourne terrace house.

Loving these tribal style headpieces by littledoe,
prices range between $250-$400 depending on the style they also take custom orders.

Bit of a rituals/tribal theme going on this week!
Maybe its cause I just got the new album by Bat For Lashes,
these headbands remind me of her!!

enchanted royals

Friday, April 10

Enchanted Royals is the creation of duo Haley and Dara of LA; having always been avid followers of the DIY mentality they decided to join forces and create their own label specialising in hand painted custom Vans. Each pair of shoes comes with its very own fairytale storyline, like The Duchess, a crafty mischievous gal, living in tree-filled home in the enchanted forest.

They recently caught the eyes of Vans themselves, who interviewed them for the official Vans sneaker blog.

Follow their adventures at the Enchanted Royals or on their blog, alternatively get your very own enchanted pair here!
