Natasha Khan aka Bat For Lashes. I can't get enough of this girl!!! she is seriously inspiring to me. I often buy magazines just because she is in them!
I love her, and I really want a Native American headdress. Right now. I really love Marion Cotillard, and actually... Katy Perry. I know a lot of people dismiss her, but she's so cute.
I saw Cocorosie perform last Saturday and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them ever since... The eerie combination of witchcraft and butterflies, the way their music transports you through a parallel universe, ... I can't quite shake it off, neither do I want to! I've been feeling incredibly creative everytime I think about those girls floating across the stage.
Many muses from a wide variety of the arts. Kate Bush, Mirka Mora, Helena Bonham Carter, Brigitte Bardot, Leonora Carrington, Remedios Varo, Daphne du Maurier and Johnny Depp. The list could go on forever, seriously. So many fab and wonderful people in this amazing universe to be inspired by. xx
If you love Bat for Lashes, you must try Florence & the Machine for a bit of an upbeat dose of hippy-chic. Kate Bush, Jill Scott, Tori Amos, the incomparable Billie Holliday, Kate Atkinson, the Brontes: the list is quite endless!
She's a local model/photographer and a bit famous internationally too. She's not yet in TV much but she's in various magazines and clothing lines already. Tricia Gosingtian: LookBook
Cool headdresses. I love the feathers and the moose horn. HeHe. As for inspiration, I dunno if there is just one person who inspires me. But I absolutely love my 7-month old niece. She makes my day.
awesome! i love the pic with the feather pieace and the antlers. my biggest inspiration is nature, the outdoors, and beautiful and unique people who stand out in it. peace & love!
ahhhh bat for lashes! natasha khan is an amazing storyteller, her songs inspire such beautiful images in my mind. binki shapiro from little joy is pretty great too. her voice is wonderful and she is beautiful! and rasputina is AMAZING. i love their cover of barracuda by Heart. who knew a cello could make a song sound so hardcore?! which reminds me, my friend showed me this video today http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TYQh7nPqZVU i don't know if you're into system of a down, but i think any music lover can appreciate these women and their musical talent. chicks rocking out on the violin is just . . . its AWESOME is what it is. and i would say they are inspiring too :)

anyone ever considered how incredibly offensive the played-out trend of wearing headdresses is to native communties? i hoped the readers of this blog would be more culturally intelligent, but apparently not.
if you're open-minded enough to further examine this, please read on here:
natasha has been incorporating head dresses with her image and music for years, its part of HER. natasha wears headresses and other "ceremonial" attire for performances, and her performances are looked upon as just that; ceremonies. there is something very spiritual about her music. why is she being criticized for this? she is not running around playing cowboys and indians. i don't understand why people would be OFFENDED by people admiring parts of their culture.
I absolutely love bat for lashes. Its funny because I have this friend who has a friend who looks just like her, but a tad prettier (in my opinion). I heard she was also approached by some model scout too.
I came across this post by accident, and what a surprise. I gave Natasha that gold bat necklace when I met her before her show in Portland, OR. I have a matching one in silver. She is so kind and such a sweetheart!
