I blogged about a Norwegian designer yesterday and today I find myself looking through Norwegian blogs (with the help of google translate) admiring the beautiful homes such as that of Nora Lill (first two images) and Pryde (last image). I really must visit that part of the world! Also don't you just love white interiors with bold colours added in the smaller knicknacks and detailings? I've been thinking about how I will decorate my new place, the best part of moving is getting to set up a new space. We're getting rid of alot of furniture as its easier to do that then pay to move it. So I'll also be going shopping for new furniture. fun! If anyone knows some good secondhand furniture shops at the Gold Coast do let me know.

There's just something about plates on the wall. It almost seems like they make a house a home.

ahh i love looking an interior pictures, always so inspiring. we are hoping to shift into a bigger place in January and I am SO EXCITED to start buying new furniture for it. hope to see new pictures of your place when you move!
ReplyDeletethose are beautiful inspiring spaces! I'm looking forward to having my own place too as have always lived in share houses up until now!
ReplyDeleteNot sure about second hand furniture places on the Goldie (though I'm sure there are plenty) but if you ever decide to do a trip to Brisbane I can recommend a few antique and second hand places (plus there is an Ikea on the way back to pick up bits and pieces).

@Jen ~ I agree, I've always loved plates on walls.
ReplyDelete@herecomesthesun ~ same to you, I want more pictures of your place when you set it up. Moving can be such a pain but fun at the same time!
@fizzleout ~ Im just getting used to this "on the Goldie" hehe...guess Ill learn to speak like a local eventually. oh IKEA is good, I love their curtains and pillows.
Oh how lovely, I totally agree on how there's such simple grace to put plates on walls..the kitchen itself is so fresh and inviting, I love interior designs like that, which can give you that comfort, yet modern atmosphere...have a wonderful week and take care!
ReplyDeleteFunny but I think I know the person with the last kitchen table. Her name is Kristine Whilhelmsen. She is a stage decorator. Small world:)
ReplyDelete(I am from Norway:)
@Kristin Hjellegjerde ~ oh wow. small world indeed, and she has a beautiful home!!
ReplyDeleteLoving the colors~your blog is a favorite of mine. Truly amazing. a rose for you ---> @}~~~~~
ReplyDeleteThat first kitchen is simple perfection. I'm getting tired of my dark granite and stainless steel appliances. Give me old, simple and white, please - and preferably mis-matched.
ReplyDeletelove the kitchen! great colors!
ReplyDeleteEeee, I do love white interiors. That kitchen(s) is really great.
ReplyDeleteO what a beautiful interior...I love the plate display and the lovely kitchen
ReplyDeletelove love love it! especially the chairs!
ReplyDeletePlates are good. I want that Kat McLeod one but haven't got around to spending that money yet. Starting up new can be fun.
ReplyDeleteI love the mood of this interior, the pea green, lilacs and pinks - such a fun fusion of old and new sentiments..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can understand the colors, I imagine those cold dark winters and it must feel like spring inside these houses!
ReplyDeletethere used to be (and hopefully still is) a place called found on the old gc highway at palm beach. it sells cool retro restored furniture, not cheap, but great for window shopping and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteand for clothes check out cute boutiques - i hate my skirt, love from lucy and dot wears a dress. there's lots of great stuff on the goldie, it just takes a bit of searching...
if i were a single gal, this is exactly what my home would look like!
ReplyDeletei wish i could afford a place of my own when i turn 25 :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, you should really come visit Norway! It is so beautiful here. Its summer now, so its so light and lots of flowers but its nice all year around. The winter can be dark though, but it has its own charm. I can show you around if you come!
ReplyDeleteit always makes me smile to see a hand knit throw in a room, it just makes a space feel so homey!
ReplyDeleteThese rooms have such a soft feel to them that makes me feel at peace. I really love those plates on the wall :)

ReplyDeleteYes, i agree with the person above about the place in Palm beach on the GC Highway. its very cute...i think it is called found.
ReplyDeleteThere is also a great big antiques place about an hour south of the GC which is awesome. Two stories and filled with fabulous randomness. If only i could remember what it is called! I will try to find out and re-post. I LOVE living on the GC and i hope you do too! Good luck with the move!
Belle déco et tout spécialement un faible pour les chaises.

Buy this book (http://nakedcityguide.com.au/) it lists all the cool places and things to do on the Gold Coast.
ReplyDeleteIt really helped me out when I moved here because so much of this stuff isn't easy to find - but when you do it's well worth the effort :)
