The Dress

Wednesday, October 10

sources: Lover,  The Lane

I know I only just got engaged but I'm already so excited to pick out the dress! I can't stop thinking about the idea of having a Lover dress as a wedding gown ever since Jen suggested it (they're her favourite ever designer). Their White Magick capsule collection is so stunning and full of gorgeous delicate lace. My only concern is how see through they are, I would need to find the perfect slip. They are also a reasonable price in terms of a wedding dress and hold their value (trying to be sensible with wedding spending, hah)  hmm I think a trip to Sydney to their flagship store to try them on is needed!

What do you think?

My other favourite dresses are the Kelsey Genna Bridal Collection I blogged last week here.

  2. Hi! I got married in a Lover dress. Actually the second one in this post. It comes with an ivory slip. I actually also had one made which fit me a little better and was a bit whiter. It was really inexpensive to do this. I actually ordered the dress over the phone (I live in Melbs) I know, a little crazy to do with a wedding dress, but was so over dress shopping and absolutely loved the look of this dress. They have a great exchange policy and I just had mine altered a little to fit me perfectly. I highly recommend Lover for a wedding dress. It's so gorgeous and not too 'weddingy'. Do it!

    1. ahh that is so great to know you did as well, I have been seeing a couple of pictures lately of girls picking a lover dress as a wedding dress. Good to know they come with a slip. I too like that they're are all under $1000. Which is so reasonable for wedding dress!!

    3. They sure are lovely! I couldn't justify spending thousands on a dress either. I am quite short, so the length of that dress came a lot closer to the floor on me than on the lovely long legged model. I'm quite curvy too, but it's actually quite a loose fit on top. But definitely another good reason to go to the Lover store and try them on if you can. Good luck! :)

  4. Liss! All I can recommend is: do as much research and go to as many shops as you can before you buy the dress... don't feel pressured to buy too early on! Exhaust all your options, then once you find the perfect dress you will know that you've exhausted all your options. Your taste in style may change/refine during the process.

  6. Oh my gosh. LACE! It has been a dream of mine (since last year) to one day get married in a Lover dress, the first one in your post to be exact. You'll have to tell us if they're as perfect in real life as they look online.

  16. I want an entirely lace wedding dress! Not that it will be any day soon :P
I saw one in Portmans a few seasons ago I was tempted to buy and hold on to, but decided against for several reasons. But now I now what I want.

I think if it's a bit see-through it keeps it modern.

I really like the high-neck dress! Lover would be a great choice.

    Honestly though, this: http://www.missmoss.co.za/2012/06/13/valentino-resort-2013/
    I want 1,4 or 6.

    Good luck :)
