I just got a roll of film back with photos from the last few months. Gosh I love summer, I want to have an endless summer!!
I also recently bought a Canon 5D Mark II and to be honest I still prefer film photography over it. My time is so limited now with my PhD studies really cranking up a notch that I barely have time to learn how to use the Canon let alone then go through the hundreds of photos you always end up taking on digital and learning how to edit all the photos in a way I'm happy with them. I blame this for why I still haven't blogged my engagement party photos a month later!! eek sorry.
Film for me has always been easier, I get the photos developed straight to cd and most of the time I love them already and I don't need to do any editing.
If you'd like to see some of the film photos I've shared here over the last few years, I have them all tagged under the camera used....
Happy Weekend.

Oh, you make me miss QLD So much!! Love the photos!
ReplyDeleteLovely. I hear you on the film, I too have had a summer on film so far :)
ReplyDeleteI love the atmosphere film photos! Film has the best quality about it and digital can never compare. It makes me miss summer and days like these, but gets me so excited that spring is almost here for us folks in the northern hemisphere :)
ReplyDeleteYour summer looks like it was fab!
ReplyDeleteWow I really love all these pictures! Makes me long for summer even more!
ReplyDeleteGreat post!

beautiful, there is just something special about film photos...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Liss. You captured summer beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about film being "easier" than digital. Everytime I take digital photos, I ALWAYS have to edit them, and there's dozens to shift through... whereas with film, it's a lot more natural and I just post them as is, and I like it that way. That's probably why my blog has become dominated by film photos - it's out of laziness! haha ;)
you made me want summer more <3
ReplyDeleteI miss summer and film camera now.

the photos are perfect!
ReplyDeleteAh, so gorgeous. I always think that summer looks especially great on film.
ReplyDeleteI really love these pictures!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish for the sunshine! You always take such happy photos! Love it!!!! :) Thanks for being so awesome!
ReplyDeleteI like the two tone ice-cream! Your photographs are so nice and summery. They remind me of my travels and setting up camp etc.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the film cameras. They have this raw, vintagish edge that cannot be imitated by a digital camera, even though you edit them later.
ReplyDeleteJust explore with your canon, it took me more than a year to know how my slr-camera worked and I still end up taking pictures in the auto mode.
Love,

Lovely pictures, I love photography and recently bought myself a dslr digital camera, it's so thrilling when you capture something at the perfect moment, I absolutely love it!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful film and what nice pictures! something about film photography that will always be loved. I barely use my Canon and I'm getting the 5D Mark II soon - I know there are still so many features I have yet to touch on my current one, but now I've been searching for a Canon AE-1.
ReplyDeleteSummer is coming sooner than you know! :)
Lovely shots, I'm dying for the seasons to change! I'm with you all the way, I've got a Canon 5D Mark II and Nikon D90 at home, but nothing beats my Nikon film camera...

Canon 5D Mark II; wowza. I wouldn't say no to one of those :P
ReplyDeleteBut film does have a certain quality to it that you can't get with a digital camera, even with post processing it's never quite the same.
dont get me wrong, I LOVE my Mark II. it took me many years of saving to buy it :P and it is the best digital ive owned!!
Deletebut i will never lose my love for film and natural grain.
theres something about putting in time and effort that makes film photography that little bit more sentimental

Film does produce lovely shots, and your summer shots really portray the season. I love shooting on film, but find the ease of my mark II is addictive.

I absolutely love the quality of film! I've been playing around a lot with my Canon AE-1 Program that I got last Christmas, as well as my Split-Cam. I've had some great results so far!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos and blog!
